Food Tour, Kuala Lumpur

Sometimes we are faced with an incompehensible menu when travelling. We found a tour that promised enlightenment as well as street food to enjoy. Met Charles who led us through backstreets of Little India to a banana leaf hawker stall. There we fell upon a tasty dish indeed, chicken tikka made more delicious with the banana leaf plate. This was followed by further rambles enjoying deep fried treats, indian sweets, malaysian  cendol - palm sugar, green chewy noodle, coconut milk, an icy dish. All the time we discussed politics, history and culture as Charles kept leading us further on. Next stop Chinatown - temples, wet market and final stops for black noodles and ice Malay coffee.
Like children in a lolly shop, we felt great joy.  Being led round viewing the sights, hearing the stories and eating the local delights was unforgetable.
